I joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ in the autumn of 2013. At the present time, I am a full-time staff with Athletes in Action in Slovakia. My ministry is to work with churches and other Christian organizations using the tool of sports for evangelism and discipleship.

The Vision of Athletes in Action Slovakia is to use sports as a platform to help people answer questions of faith and to point them to Jesus. We want to serve the church through the platform of sports and make disciples in Slovakia and beyond. We want to bring the Gospel through sports and sports activities to kids, teenagers, and university students. We also want to proclaim Christian values and principles in modern ways.

Robert and Debbie Hale have served with Wycliffe Bible Translators and Mission to the World since 1990. The Hales spent about 11 years living and working in West Africa; first in Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and then in Mali. Robert headed up the Mbato translation program for four years before serving as assistant director for the work in Côte d’Ivoire.

The Hales returned to the U.S. in 2006 and Robert is now working in the Field Programs Department of Wycliffe U.S. as a field coordinator for Francophone Africa. He continues to make periodic trips to West and Central Africa, assisting field partners with project design and management. Even though the Hales are not able to currently reside in Africa, they feel blessed that they can continue to be involved in bringing God’s Word to those without it in Francophone Africa.

Rosemary has been working in Indonesia since 1985. She is under the sponsorship of one of the largest church denominations in Maluku. She and her Nuaulu co-worker, Huna, are currently focusing on activities to encourage the Nuaulu people to use the books of Scripture that have been translated to date. Rosemary and Huna are crafting oral Bible stories since the Nuaulu are an oral culture. The Bible stories will then be used in storying fellowship groups. Rosemary and Huna are also preparing Bible story videos, some of which are short and designed for viewing on cell phones, which are very popular with young people.

Please pray that these activities would draw many Nuaulu people to Christ as well as result in spiritual growth. Pray also that more Nuaulu people would help with this work.

Miriam was very involved in the life of her local church growing up. As a teenager, God used MTW missionaries to open her eyes and heart to the possibility of serving as a missionary herself.

While at Covenant College, Miriam had the privilege of studying for a semester in the Czech Republic, further opening her heart to international ministry. After graduation and several years teaching middle school, she again felt God’s call to missions. She initially went to Trnava, Slovakia, as a two-year missionary, and ended up serving there for an additional eight years.

The work in Trnava came to a close as the church plant there was turned over to nationals, and Miriam was led by the Lord to her next calling in neighboring Zlin, Czech Republic. She helped with the local Czech church plant by serving women and teenage girls, helping develop and grow a mother and child outreach, teaching English, helping with administration, and reaching out in love to lost and hurting people as God leads.

In 2012, Miriam was privileged to adopt her son, Evan.

In the summer of 2020, Miriam and Evan transitioned to ministry in Prague. Please pray for them as they continue in service to Christ in Prague.

Carla came to faith as a young child after hearing the story of five missionaries killed in Ecuador. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Covenant College and her doctoral degree from Regent University. Since joining MTW in 1989, she has worked helping children in other lands have the same opportunity to hear the gospel while they, too, are young (2 Timothy 3:15).

In 1999, after teaching at Alliance Academy in Quito, Ecuador, Carla was called to help the Presbyterian Church in Belize strengthen its Christian school program. Working alongside Belizean leaders, Carla developed courses to help teachers understand the implications of a Reformed, biblical worldview on education, and implement strategies to improve their effectiveness in the classroom.

Having successfully completed this work with the Belizean Church, Carla is now creating a similar program to be used by the Presbyterian Church in other countries. Her ministry, PS78TEACHERS, takes its name from Psalm 78, “We will not hide … but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of our Lord.” Her mission is to facilitate the creation of God-centered day and home schools in Reformed-minded churches abroad and to equip teachers for these schools.

“Girls living in poverty are uniquely capable of creating a better future. But when a girl reaches adolescence, she comes to a crossroads.” When given access to quality education, health care, and a support system, the trajectory of her life can be forever changed. By the age of ten, girls living in poverty have reached an age where the price of a bad choice is too high.

We are determined to walk alongside these girls encouraging them to listen to the still-small voice of a very big God who has divine plans for their future. We are committed to loving them in every decision; weeping with them in their sadness and rejoicing with them in their gladness. We long to hold the hands of their parents so that their girls will not be sold to the highest bidder.

This is our heart’s work. God planted this dream deep in our souls many years ago. We began with twenty girls, but only God knows where we’ll end up. Funding and facility seem like impossible mountains to overcome, but we are encouraged that in our weakness, God shows His power and might.

Join us in prayer as we “roar” against the generations of bondage and sexual perversion. What was meant for the dead, we are claiming as life—full of promise and Hope.

Lucas works with Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) to serve the students of Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Meyers, FL. RUF is a Christian ministry associated with the Presbyterian Church in America. Lucas and his team seek to help students grow in their faith, search for answers, and find community. RUF is a place where every student, regardless of background, personal history, or conviction, can examine the truths of biblical Christianity in ways that are plausible to the skeptic and life-changing for the believer.

Lucas was born and raised in Naples, Florida. He met his wife Bobbilee while studying business at the University of Florida. They got married in November 2004 and have three children: Isaac, Sadie, and Molly. Lucas earned a Master of Divinity from Knox Theological Seminary and has been a minister to students for 16 years.
